New Matchmaker Solo Vs. Platoons
Silversound 5 Posted Aug 28 - We notice platoons get the shaft as well. Rhadamanthuz 6 Posted Aug 28 - Someone mentioned this already or have read this info somewhere on this forum. My point is that I know several people that are not enjoying the game anymore because they feel it is detrimental to play with friends. Komitadjie 11 Posted Aug 28 - It does kinda seem to wreck a goodly portion of the game, when playing with your friends actually penalizes you.
Isn't the IDEA of the game to play and coordinate with your friends and team?

This isn't a conspiracy. If you want to platoon and be top-tier, play Tier X. Everything is driving toward Tier X being the end-point, as it is the most expensive and, if you average player don't want to go broke, you'll need to have a premium account to be able to break-even when playing. I am here for fun and platooning makes MM less fun. We still overcome it, but being punished for platooning is beyond asinine. Don't you platoon to be with your friends? But anything below T9 becomes unbearable after one or two hours, frustration increases due to lost games where one could not do anything even in the platoon.
So most of the time, instead of taking the initiative, one is relegated to a support role, sniping from the back hoping that your own top tiers do not screw up too hard and an opportunity to flank arises. On a side note, marking tanks has become easier. Try that for fun maybe. I dont really mind playing as bottom tier at all.
How Matchmaking Works in World of Tanks
I play mostly quick flankers anyways that rely on not getting hit in the first place. I'd just like to experience the full potential of those tanks when top tier from time to time As i said in the thread linked where I discuss the horrible T8 MM: T7 is pretty good right now. E25s probably have a field day My friends do not own E25s unfortunately, but the matchmaking I have been getting with E25 is insanely good atm.
Tier 8 is rough. I do agree that tier 9 is better. And of course, it's hard to beat tier 10 platooning. But good luck playing that for long without having been grinding premiums for hours and hours first. I'm their prime kind of whale. It doesn't mean that they're right. It means that time is more valuable to me than money. And that is exactly why the game is as painful as it is.

Might explain what I've seen. As I mentioned in another thread I have approximately matches since 9. I play mostly in platoons.
- Wargaming CAN'T control the matchmaking - it's not that they Don't Want to...
- Platoon Match Making : WorldofTanks!
- free dating site holland.
Yeah tier 8 platooning is basically sheer misery right now. Otherwise, it's just brutal. After getting absolutely crushed since the patch I mostly play tier 8's, in a platoon , I've given up on tier 8 for now.
- Platoon Matchmaking is to harsh.
- kanye west and kim before dating!
- high 5 dating.
Tier 9 is MUCH better.. So some platoons are good, best to penalize all platoons? It is incredibly unfair to everyone that just plays with friends.
How Matchmaking Works
This algorithm creates more even team composition overall. Thanks to the platoon changes in Update 9. The only way to fail platoon now is by platooning a Premium tank with preferential matchmaking with tanks that do not have preferential matchmaking.
This too will become a much more rare occurance, as future tanks will no longer have this special matchmaking. So, if you happen to platoon with someone while using a vehicle that originally had unique matchmaking, make sure your platoonmate uses a tank of the same tier with the same unique matchmaking as well to prevent fail platooning. Additionally, Light tanks no longer receive scout matchmaking as they did before.
Due to the addition of new Tier 10 Light tanks , scout matchmaking is no longer needed.
